Our Purpose

Lahinch Leisure Centre empowers, motivates and supports all people on the road to better health and wellbeing. Whether you’re a familiar face, visitor or holiday maker – we want to help you enjoy an active lifestyle.

WHAT WE OFFER

You’ll love the coastal setting of Lahinch Leisure Centre. We’re just steps away from the beautiful beach which pairs perfectly with our sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. Breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and Lahinch promenade complete your experience, as you enjoy our state-of-the-art two-storey gym and designated HYROX gym. Plus, our basketball half court and fitness classes mean there really is something for everyone.

SUSTAINABILITY

Lahinch Leisure Centre is proud to be among the most green and sustainable health and fitness facilities in Ireland and is committed to running the highest standard, energy efficient complex.

Following our refurbishment in 2020, we made a strong shift from using fossil fuels to sustainable energy. To help us make a real impact on our environment and our community, and to lighten our carbon footprint, our advances in sustainability include:

310 solar panels, which, on a sunny day, can generate up to 90% of our electricity, using our 137kWp Solar PV Array.
Burning of wood pellets instead of oil boilers.
Geo-thermal heat pumps.
Ventilation systems developed by recycling plastic bottles.
Smart LED lighting throughout the centre.
Pool temperatures maintained by geo-thermal energy.
6 Recoup shower heat recovery units.
All windows and doors have double glazing and high thermal efficiency units.  
Push button showers and sensor taps.

Lahinch Leisure Centre is part of the Burren Ecotourism Network which promotes and encourages Sustainability throughout county Clare. We have a BER A3 Energy Rating and hold NZEB (Near Zero Energy Building) status which is Best in Class for Leisure Facilities.  We operate under the code of practice for Sustainable tourism.

WHO CAN USE OUR CENTRE

Looking for things to do in Lahinch? We love that we are at the heart of the community and our ethos is ‘everyone is welcome’. We offer fun and wellbeing to all.

Sports groups and clubs use our facilities for team-building sessions and retreat days.

We welcome those with additional needs and have a pool hoist and disability changing room. We are fully wheelchair friendly.

We support volunteer groups who are the change-makers in our area.
